So I'm not the only one.

James, check stores like REI, or even better REI online or Overstock.com and the like. Of the three I have, I only bought one full price. The other two were last seasons (like it matters) so I got one for $9.00 and the other for $13.00. Full price they usually go for around $45.00 and up.

What are other names for them? Neither overstock nor REI Online has any results for safari shirts…

I'd do a search for guide shirts, and/or fishing shirts. I'm a member of REI, but I think Cabela's has better prices. You might also check out Bass Pro Shops.

I have two different types that I bought from Cabela's. One style is called the Serengeti Safari Shirt. It is Cotton Canvas and is great for the cooler weather. The other is a Cabela's Guidewear Supplex shirt.

Now I'm going to have to make sure my shirts match the tartans I plan on getting.

Yeah, there are tons of names for them. Usually you'll find them in the Men's Outdoor section of the website.

Safari shirt, guide shirt, hiking shirt are probably the most common. So far I haven't seen anyplace that put them in their own category online though, they have just been mixed in with other men's outdoor shirts.

Here's one of my favorite summer shirts that I got from Campmor. Although it's more of a weight for cooler weather I enjoy this one from Cabela's. I especially enjoy the empaulets. In fact I enjoy it so much I put my XMarks patch on it.

I also have a slew of the Wal Mart ones mentioned. Can't beat the price.

You may also want to look at Sportsman's Guide. Their supply occasionally rotates, but they have a good selection. Something like this may look good with the kilts...I'm thinking of getting one for my basil Survival UK.
