Rememberance Day is a very solemn occasion here in Canada too. You can almost feel the mood in your pictures Alex. A bit of sadness, and a whole lot of pride.
I can honestly say I don't think I've ever seen anyone wear a sporran quite that large! Do you know this fellow? There has to be a story behind that sporran.
I've been making enquiries as to the identity of the guy with the muckle sporran. It seems he lives out of town, somewhere further up the Borthwick valley.
This is all I have been able to find out:-
The man with the muckle sporran is called MacKenzie and lives between Roberton and Craik in what some suggest is a barn. I have no idea why his sporran is so large.
