new sgian dubh

Hi there, I´d like to show to you my latest self made sgian. I hope it´ll work with the pics. OK-let´s try:

Hey, it works!! Although I actually prefer making dirks, I hope, you´ll like this. The handle is made from Cocobolo, blade is C60 (o,6%carbon/I´m not familiar with US-classifications-sorry)hardened an tempered to 53 Rockwell, fittings are brass. Length overall 7 1/2'

Well, for the the rough shape I use a grinder, for the carving itself there are small chisels and self made tools from old files.

James, the blade used in this dirk is bought, not self made, although I make dirk blades as well. Here´s an example for a self made blade:

O'Neille: Sorry, I have no pics while working, but I'll ask my wife to take some pics next time.
