My seldom worn leather pants have plenty of character and based on the amount of female attention I think they are pretty magnificent...

Yes, I'm a little bit more aware of my appearance when I wear a kilt than when I wear pants because I know that I stand out a bit more. However, fundamentally I'm the same person no matter what I strap around my rumpside. I knew that on the first day I wore a kilt in public and I still know that. I still believe that what COUNTS is the person, not the color or stitching pattern of the piece of cloth that they use to hide their privates from general display.

If we insist that people treat "kilties" decently and with respect, then it behooves us to treat people who do NOT wear a kilt with the same respect.
I really think I do that.

But if I run into you in the Mall, and I don't know you from Adam, AND - you are also kilted, we will have an immediate bond. We won’t need to sound each other out about who we are.

If I see you in a pair of jeans, and again - I don't know you from Adam, I’ll just keep on walking. You’ll still walk along on your merry way with all my respect, we just won’t stop and talk.

I know that I am extremely lucky to be able to wear the kilt every day. I’m retired, I wear what I want. - - - - - - - - I want to wear the kilt!

My leather pants were sold to me as chaps and I assure you that not only female but also male police officers pay me a great deal of attention when I wear them in public, with or without underwear. Now, if only I could find a way to make that welcome attention . . .
