So, here are my thoughts on the kilt. Just to give you something to ponder while you patiently wait for yours to arrive.

I looked at the directions for measuring the kilts and decided to try something. The waist measurement is about right, but I went a bit small on the hips. I don't really have hips, just a place where they should be. So, I ordered a 36/35/23.

I was a little worried that it wouldn't fit right. Normally stout, the internet and credit cards don't mix. I'm happy to say my worries were of no account. I love the way it fits. Not quite as loose as my Utilikilt or my SportKilt but it doesn't seem to make a difference when I'm walking.

The buckles are brilliant. It's nice having a way to tweak the fit of your kilt like that and they look pretty damn spiffy.

My first impression is Rocky makes a damn fine kilt.
I, of course, can't speak for Rocky. But, I'm pretty certain he didn't build your kilt to those measurements. I would be willing to bet a hand full of candy canes that your kilt's measurements are actually 36/36/23. Otherwise your kilt would be shaped like a funnel.

Wow, this is the first I heard of this. I would at least like to see the tartan. I just bought a kilt so I can't buy one for awhile again, the money doesn't multiply that fast around here. Too cold right now, I think for it to do that. haha

    DALE.

You don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable!

You can read about it in the thread where we gathered the order together.

Essentially what happened is that someone noticed that USAK had Army tartan, and Stillwater had Marine tartan, but none of the inexpensive kilt makers had Navy tartan. This person set out to gather enough orders to get USAK to order the fabric, and before you knew it, it happened.

That was sort of what I was envisioning. But it fits and that's what's important.

Cross Post from Show us Your Pictures

Here's my crosspost of the newest kilt to my collection. Once again, I'm pleased beyond belief with my newest addition from Rocky and Kelly.

With the US Navy Tartan in last week, I was pleased to think I would get back from my trip to San Diego next week to see my new Kilt waiting. Imagine my surprise when Rocky called to say it was ready if I wanted to come pick it up. So, road trip on Saturday, and I have my new US Navy Kilt to wear on my trip to San Diego. To top it off, on the way back, I stopped at Sly Fox brewery to pick up something to take to the Homebrewers meeting and the Army/Navy game was on the the tube and it was 4th quarter with Navy in the lead.

As usual, the semi-traditional fits perfectly and hangs beautifully. Pictures obviously don't do the tartan justice, but the colors are just stunning. As requested, it is pleated to stripe in the military fashion. Once again, the customer service and just downright friendliness of USA Kilts comes through and I get to wear my new kilt on my trip instead of waiting until I return.

So, without further ado and much boasting, here are two shots of the new kilt.

And, so you can see the pleats:

If they outlaw guns, can we go back to using swords?

Boy is you a happy kiltie or what!? Sharp look.

Just got an email yesterday that mine is wending its way cross country through the clogged holiday postal system....endeavoring to be patient...but I "had" to check out your pics....now I'm NOT so patient...

    Missed Veteran's Day...missed Army Navy...hopefully, by Dec 7th....no matter, there's always next year....no, I want it NOW!!

    Go mailman go!

It helps that Rocky is about an hour and a half drive away and I "force" myself to visit once in a while.

    Okay, mine's here...hot dang!

Tell you what guys, the tartan is much prettier to the eyeball than any on line photo or swatch I've seen.

I'm glad I got me one now.

    Pics soon.
