    Just curious,

    PS. I hope that wasn't TMI…

Both of these happen to me occasionally, especially if I've worn a kilt or pants for several days in a row, as opposed to alternating between the two types of garments.

Hey I started doing that when I first got a kilt. Somewhat weened myself of it then I got my FK, now I'm doing it that with whatever kilt I'm wearing. People look at me strange for some reason because I won't give up trying to find those damn pockets...

Yes, takes a bit of getting used to.
I remember seeing a guy in the urinal stalls push back his sporran to reveal a zip fly in his kilt. Unusual to find a kilt with a zipper fly (the overlapping aprons might make it impractical) though there is a company in England makes denim skirts for men with a zipper fly.

I feel wierd without a sporran if I'm wearing pants. On the other hand, I was wearing a sporran on my hip to carry my keys and walet long before I started wearing a kilt.

Yes, I still try to find pockets; then when I wear my Utilikilt - and actually find pockets, I surprise myself! But I still remember to Zip up on the odd occasion I wear pants.
Kilt is so much easier, just lift & go....

haha, I always check for the pockets when I'm leaving my house (I'm rather forgetful, so I always have to check for my keys). Anyone nearby is treated to the sight of a rather confused-looking Wonder who looks like he's being attacked by a bunch of hip-level bees.

As or the fly, I can't imagine you could forget for very long in winter in Michigan...

I had to make myself double-check the zipper when I first started working this job after rarely wearing trousers for almost 5 years. I also found myself sweeping the non-existent pleats of said trousers when I sat down.

    I'm better now.

On the rare occasions that I wear pants, I find myself trying to sweep my pleats when I sit down. I've sat on my hands more than once that way.
