    Inexpensive Morrison?

I'm currently looking for an inexpensive Morrison kilt. I want to pay a decent price for one, I don't wanna sell my soul or an arm or leg for one. SWK doesn't carry these, I've looked at some traditional kilt sellers, but they're way too expensive. Any help? Keep in mind, I'm a bit broke and I'm still growin' (I know that one just kills the whole thing, but I'm planning ahead...sorta, kinda...maybe).

    Thanks!

It just happens I ordered some Morrison STA #1083 in 13 oz. from Lochcarron.

If you want an FK made, the total would be $285.00 in labor and $298.00 in fabric.

That would bring the total to $583.00cdn or $577.00usd.

If you want some pockets in the kilt add them for $20.00ea.

For Morrison, I think you'd have to go to a traditional kiltmaker. I guess you'll just have to save up? To feel better about giving up all those Benjamins on a kilt, Adam H has a good price breakdown of why kilts are so expensive, so that you at least know where your money goes.

    Good luck finding something though!

well if you get 4-5 yards of double width fabric, you shouldnt worry about growing out of it. ive calculated around 320 USD for 4 yards of 15oz wool from newsome.

I'd say the least expensive route would be one of Matt Newsome's box pleated kilts. You could have that one for $350... in most of the Morrison tartans as many of them are readily available. Or, you could get SUPER lucky like I did and find a steal on Ebay.

Maybe ask around the clan society for any used kilts for sale. Or if it is that hard to find an affordable Morrison kilt, maybe you could organize a group together and try to get a reduced rate on a bulk order...
