I tried my hand at knitting once, last March. Bought a How-To-Knit kit and black and yellow yarn at Wal-Mart - and plunged right in. My first and only attempt at knitting so far.

However, the recipient and wearer of the article completely overshadows any knitting deficiencies!



(Maybe she needs another one, done in pink... er, marroon!... to coordinate with her daddy's other kilt color. )




In a vein very similar to kiltmaking, the resulting article can be worn with pride even with (or, because of) the "homemade" look about it.
