I ordered my first kilt from Kiltstore, or Scotsweb. It took much longer then they estimated, it took at least 3 months, it was delayed for what ever reason. I was a bit upset, but I didnt have anything special planned for my kilt, I just wanted to have one. The quality is top notch, but the were very slow getting it to me. My brothered also ordered one from them, shortly after I got mine, his didnt take quite as long to get here, but FedEX nailed him with a $108 import charge! I was lucky and didnt get stuck with an aditional fee, but my brother and fedex and kiltstore went round and round about that "hidden" fee. I never get anything from the UK anymore if its being shipped fedex. I have never had any problems with Royal Mail however, tho it takes a little longer.

That bites man, but welcome...lots of posts on this forum will allow you to search before you buy again.
Which Portland are you from?
I waited 12 weeks for my first kilt and it was just a Utilikilts Original...back in the days they were scrambling and farming out production...and I didn't need it for anything...just kept wondering what could take so long??
Plenty of good kiltmakers here in the U.S who can score the material and do the work for you here.

Way Cool! Cleveland High School class of 1962. Lived out in Vamport(?) during the floods, Council Crest on Patton Rd and Sherwood Drive, Mt. Tabor, Garthwick, and Lake Oswego.
Kilt country for sure!! Think there are some kilties gathering about town there from time to time.

Hey Chase,
Would you believe I was a life guard at Lake Oswego in the 60s! Mostly remember the constant oil slick on the surface...

Back when I bought my 8 yd. trad from KiltStore, it got to me much faster than expected, and is a beautiful kilt. I got hit with FedEx customs fees (around $50.00), but that isn't KiltStore's fault. I'll gladly order from them again....

We're practically neighbors. I live in West Linn, own a rental in Tualatin and Work in Lake Oswego.
I was the hit of the party even in my PV Kilt. I'd post a picture but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. If someone would be so kind as to explain the process, I'll post pics.
My Kiltstore kilt is now in Memphis, TN. Should have it tomorrow. I'll have to be Kilted at next weekend's party as well.
