Collected my 2 new tanks today
When I ordered the two kilts from Houstons at the beginning of November I was quoted second half of January for delivery so I was favourably surprised to receive a telephone call last Friday that the kilts were ready. So I went to Paisley today for a trial fit and both kilts fitted fine. By the time I arrived home with them it was after dark, so here are the first photos, taken with flash.

Wallace Hunting Modern, fabric from House of Edgar, 8 yard, 17 oz, with teflon coating on the wool so that the rain will run off it. It came with garters and matching flashes and I purchased a kilt pin with a Lion Rampant motif to accessorise it.

Wallace Hunting modern - pleats.
I had a great great great grandfather, Robert Wallace, who was a hand loom weaver in Paisley two hundred years ago.
Paisley tartan "ancient", from Marton Mills, 8 yard 17 oz teflon coated. With garters and matching flashes. This tartan was first woven in 1952 at Paisley's Anchor Mills. It was adopted by Paisley Town Council as the town tartan and was also adopted as the tartan of the Paisley family, so unusually can be either a district or a family tartan.

I was born and brought up in Paisley.

A closer view of the Paisley tartan, showing the Paisley kilt pin also supplied by Houstons.
