Thanks for all the comments. The night was a big success, with over $80,000 raised for local charities. Somewhere there are pics of me at the ball with my beautiful wife, who had to leave the house early to help with set up. A friend took those, and I don't have them yet. She still hasn't come around to my going kilted.
Would you mind posting how much the whole jacket and waistcoat conversion cost you? I think it would be good for those considering it to have an idea.
Altogether it was about $225. I used a seamstress to help with sewing, but she only charged $50 (included in the above total). She had never seen a Prince Charlie and went with my sketches and pics donwloaded from XMarks.
Very sharp outfit indeed! There's no way anyone at your dinner could have not complimented you.
Btw, I've been curious for a while as to what your handle stands for. That's a subway line here in NYC.
It was an old college nickname from intramural football. My name is Duncan, and I guess I charged like a train. The nickname has stuck.
