My first kilt was purchased while I was a student at St. Andrews. I purchased a complete outfit from Kirk Wynd Highland House in town. The kilt is a handmade 16 oz. modern McPherson w/ military pleats (set to the stripe). I love it, but my post university years have not been as kind to my waistline, so I do not wear it as much. Almost twenty years later, it still holds its own against my more recent purchases and I would love to get back to wearing it on a more frequent basis.
