The Scotch House in Knightsbridge, London, thoughts of a business case, me trying on a kilt in Edinburgh and the Internet. You can find more details here: www.dress2kilt.eu/p0100.htm.
Add to that that I may have been predisposed to kilt wearing without really knowing: All my life since my early childhood I had been wearing shorts as often as it was possible. They were so much more comfortable than my “long trousers”.

What are the reactions and feelings from your significant others and your families?
Today my wife doesn’t object to me wearing a kilt when I’m at home. To her it is also OK that I wear it in public, when I’m on my own. It did take some time to get there. When we are out together she prefers me being in trousers.
The family has never seen me in a kilt, mainly because my wife is afraid of their reactions. But we have quite often talked about that our grown up children might know about my kilt wearing. When they are visiting us they still act as were they living with us and they must have seen my rather many kilts in the closet when looking for something. They never said one word about it, however.

What do you think makes you accepting of kilting, as it is certainly not the norm, nor does everyone accept it?
Several of our neighbors have seen me in a kilt and I have talked to a few about it. Others might have been told. By all means – I had no negative reactions – and in Denmark a man in a kilt is certainly not the norm.
To people who know me, I’m Greg, probably whatever I wear. To people that don’t know me I might be just a man in a kilt – for good or worse.

Hope, String, that you can use it.

    Greg

    1) Mainly wear it for comfort and for my heritage...

    2) The family accepts it, but prefers trousers on my body. Even though it's been over 5 years.

    3) The Seattle area seems to be fairly oblivious, partly due to Utilikilts being from this area, and partly because people are wrapped up in their own business...
