I learned to knit for the sole purpose of
making myself a pair of kilt hose. It wasn't
hard at all. In two weeks of "spare" time,
    I had a pair of 100% wool, over-the-knee
    length hose of incredible warmth.

Me too. But I work nights typically six days a week so it took much longer. I have also found that knitting is just as addictive as kilting. I started out thinking I would make x, then y, then move on to z etc., but I currently have a pair of work socks, a baby hat and a sweater all in progress with three other projects planned for the immediate future, all before starting my next pair of hand knit kilt hose.........

(the yarn I am using for the sweater is the same brand and color as I used for the kilt hose. I hope to have it finished to wear on Christmas day with my MacGregor tank. I will inflict pictures on all of you)
