Kilts at Office Christmas Party
Our company Christmas party was last Saturday at the Convention Center downtown. Entertainment: Chicago! But the most interesting surprise was the number of guys in formal, i.e., black tie, kilts. They were getting a lot of attention from the ladies! Next year, maybe I'll wear mine. I just didn't think of it this year, since I am so accustomed to wearing it for pipe band gigs and re-enacting, and this was after all my first company Christmas party (with this employer, that is).

I wore a kilt to my company party, and it had the desired effect. Who was it who said "Impress your co-workers, freak out your boss?" Yes, exactly. Stayed just long enough to become legendary!

You can make up for this, by strapping it on this weekend and wear it when you're out and about... :-) After all, it's a garment, not a costume...

Our company has it's "Holiday Party " in January. This year on a Friday night. I went kilted the first year, thinking I woulkd be the only person in a kilt. Another guy shows up in a Black Watch kilt, Fly Plaid, tux shirt and boots with scrunched down socks. He said he left his Claymore at home. The owners of the company were impressed and wanted their pictures taken with us. Last year we missed the party due to broken bones. But......I'm wearing my new USA MacRae to this years party. And I will be the only one in a kilt because the other guy moved to The Carolinas. Can't wait.
