Help from the Rabble! looking for 6 1/2 wide (EE) dress shoes

The lovely and talented F-H.C.A.G. has made my father a Braemar jacket out of a tweed sportcoat.

I have purchased a custom length Irish National kilt, sporran strap, belt, and kilt hose from Stillwater kilts.

I have given him my old (but still nice) Stillwater braided sporran.

With all these Christmas gifts my Dad is ready to attend his first Burns Night Supper in style, well except he is missing proper footwear, a black dress shoe.

He wears a short but wide shoe 6 1/2 EE (wide) USA sizing.

I told him about 5 minutes ago on the phone that I would put this question to the rabble and see if they could come up with any online sources.

If they could I told him he would have to join our forum.

    Any links or suggestions?

    Cheers

    Jamie

My dress shoes are by Florsheim, size 12 EEE. I just had a look at their website and there are a number of styles and sizes. Just input your zip code to find a store.

OH man, you need to go to Zappos. Free shipping and SUPER fast. AND, you can return them for 365 days (in new condition mind you.) I haven't gone over there to look, but I'm sure they'll have SOMETHING in his size. They've got pretty much all footwear imaginable.

Oh, yes! At Zappo's you can search dress shoes for 6.5 EE --- I got 21 hits, several of which look suitable for evening wear. For instance a couple of models by Bostonian (leather sole), and a couple by Rockport if his feet would prefer a good supportive synthetic. [edit] Fair warning, however: it can be tough to dance in Vibram soles [/edit]

I can't offer more help with a website, but I would like to second the recommendation for florsheim. I have a pair of those that have lasted now for two years of very regular wear, and are still good as new. They are also the most comfortable dress shoes I have ever had (before I put them on, I always assumed that dress shoes were supposed to be uncomfortable). So yeah, if it's an option, I love mine.

    Thanks all for your help.

My Father found a nice pair of dress shoes at Zappos and ordered them this morning. His Burns' Night outfit should be complete!

    Cheers
