    Question Your First Tank...

    ...Which Tartan and Why?

Although I don't officially receive my first kilt until Christmas, I have begun to think about getting a tank some day. I was wondering what the rabble here chose as the tartan for their first tank and the reasons behind the choice.

    Thanks,

    Kent

I chose the tartans for both of my kilts based on the tartans of my family heritage. The first one was Campbell of Cawdor modern, the second one was Ancient Lamont, my next kilt will be in the Brown tartan.

I will be buying my first very soon. I am going to get one in the Colorarodo state tartan, since that's where I live, and one in the Wolfe tartan. That's my family tartan. So that's how I chose.

If I ever get to afford one

Since I rarely have need for a full-on formal outfit, I can only see myself owning one tank. Since my surname is Armstrong, well...

I'm not Scottish, so as soon as I learned that there was a NYC tartan, that was the one I had to have to be able to wear a kilt.

I see others are listing more than one, so I'll add that I got one recently in the Clergy Blue from GT, which is a fantastic garment.

There's only one more I'd like, and that is a kilt in the Galician tartan, natch.

    My First Tank

I don't have one yet as the 22oz monster from WPG doesn't count (Cameron), but next year I plan on getting a tank in Ulster (not the Red) and or Donegal. I'm from Colorado also, Nighthawk, where do I find out what the Colorado Tartan looks like?

My first tank was in the Grant tartan in modern colours. I chose this one because it's my clan, I think the modern colours work best for me, and the bright red tartan really pops!

For my second tank I got the Grant Hunting tartan in ancient colours because I still wanted a clan tartan, but I also wanted a different colour scheme. I really like the ancient green and blue in the tartan. Another reason I like the ancient colours is because there is so much Black Watch tartan out there that I didn't want my kilt to scream "Black Watch!"

I live in Denver, but I'm from Alamosa. My family tartan is my avatar.
    This is the Colorado tartan.
