    I have 3 places I can't stay away from http://knitpicks.com/ for basics.
http://shop.artsygal.net/ fiber and lovely handpaints, perhaps not ideal for kilt hose as they tend to be bright and multi-colored. Jas is very nice and lovely and I've known her for years.
and I mostly just drool and look at fiber on etsy.com

Are you using a pattern for these? My mom would like to make some hose from the toe up but every pattern she finds is unsatisfactory to her...I believe they make bumps in the foot area. Just curious.

Nope, making the pattern as I go, and even trying to write the bleeding thing down, unlike my last try... might be the reason I never knit the second to that pair.

done, need to mail them now, and the pair for chase too.

The last three days has barely been anything but weave and knit, weave and knit. who knows how many hours i have in the garters but the hose have a good 12-15 solid hours in them already. I am lucky to be home on break where people don't expect me to go to get dressed, go class and maybe even be employed, future pairs may not get done nearly so quickly. I am trying to keep the small children and pets out of the work too.
