Sadly, my ultralight camping days are over, unless I don't care about sleep. With my apnea, I'd have to lug along a CPAP machine of some sort, just to keep breathing all night. Lightest one I've seen weighs more than some of your packs...

I've lived in the outdoors through several snowstorms and freezing days and nights, and all I had was my 11oz four yard PV kilt. As long as you keep moving you're fine. When you stop just make sure you're dry, and jump in your sleeping bag. No problem!

I have a friend who just came out of the mountains in New Mexico with black lips and toes. He'd been caught in snow above 10,000' for two weeks. The doctors say he'll keep all his appendages. Maybe if he'd been wearing a kilt he'd have been fine!

Why not hire a Sherpa or two?

Hmmm...I wonder if my girlfriend would let me hire a couple of 20-something cuties to haul our gear for us...

...they would, of course, be required to hike in mini-kilts, er skirts.

    I believe they're called "Sherpettes"
