    Indeed. The straps are really the only down side to the kilt. They are brittle and hard to buckle, as a matter of fact they are already breaking apart after three wearings!

    I concour, the Highland X Press buckles are made in Scotland and are very sturdy. I especially like the buckle. It is not the stamped sheet metal kind, but very solid metal, non-magnetic so it could be brass with chrome plating, stainless steel, or pewter.
