I have the pleasure of imparting religious education to a room full of 6, 7, and 8 year old children. This years cycle is on Judaic Roots. When we did a short skit of Moses leading the Hebrews out of Egypt, the boys wondered aloud if the costumes they wore were OK for today's world, and why or why not. After all their male teacher wears a kilt and the female teacher wears jeans.... After the class is over they get to join the adults in the fellowship hall for juice and cookies. They are exposed to many different cultural norms, and embrace them all. Kafkas, Sarongs, Kilts, etc. They give me great pleasure in their eagerness to learn and their ability to work together without prejudice.
