And if you need any more inspiration, get on Netflix and rent the film version of "Paint Your Wagon"....how about Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood singing? And the irony is that they put Harve Presnell (remember him from "Fargo"?) in that flick in a minor role...he's a fantastic singer.

....and how about Sebastian Cabot, Mr. French from the TV show "Family Affair"?" Maybe I'm going way far back here, kids. Even he did a record back in the Sixties. He did a couple of Beatles tunes on it....sort of...

I've done this song a few times and everyone has fun with it, how well you sing doesn't matter. For the blue I wrapped a blue ribbon around my leg, just above the edge of the kilt. As I finished the song I pulled up the edge of the kilt an inch or so to reveal the ribbon. It was a great hit

I feel stupid asking this question, but I'll ask anyway. What is the significance of blue ribbon or flashes concerning this song? Besides the blue in the Saltire?

To get yourself in the mood, a quick shot or two of scotch just prior to singing will silence those butterflies in your stomach...in fact, they might just join you as back up singers!

It might help if everyone else has had a couple of shots too.

But seriously, you might try "rapping" it. Rex Harrison did it in My Fair Lady. He didn't have a good singing voice, but nobody noticed.
