Gee, I just take all my loose change in a bag, and they dump it into their change counter. Way less hassle.

I live in a small town. They don't have a change counter. If I take it to the grocery store, where there is a change counter, they want a cut of it. I'll be patient. On the bright side, I'm getting rid of a car payment in February, and I may have more money to spend on kilts then (or may be not.)
The dress tartan looks great, Shriner, and I'll probably order one, eventually, but I want the MacPherson Red first.

Congratulations on the upcoming kilt. I like your saving method - I do the same thing when i save for tattoos!

I did just that (literally, minutes ago) at a Coinstar.
The verdict: $45.29

Coinstar is a coin counting machine that some of the grocery stores have. You dump in your change, it counts it, and turns it into paper money for you. If you want cash, they take a chunk of it. If you choose a gift card, they don't charge you, since they make their money off the vendor whose gift card you take.

I ordered a 13oz. kilt in MacPherson Modern from Frugal Corner from my saved up change. I also eked enough out of my paycheck to order a Thrifty kilt in Buchanan from SWK. Now comes the wait (sob)!

Hopefully your wait is shorter then mine (still waiting five+ months), though it is nice to see fellow MacPhersons here on this forum.
