It may seem a little early, but it's only a little over another month to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. Who's planning to go?

I might go. One of my friends and her husband are SCA people, and sometimes they go take a look around. How do you spell it "Haza" or something.

well if we go to Estrella war this year.....its kind of a tradition that on the monday we leave the war ( pres.day) we go to the ren faire in garb ( heck we already reek of campfire and we're already in the "mood " why not go right?

as we get closer to the time i'll have a difinitive answer

I might be interested in going, depending on the dates and work.

I'm not into the renfest stuff but it's kinda neat to see the costuming and acting.

Definate maybe from the far north canyonlands. Been a couple years since I've been....has seemed really crowded and sort of like one big shopping mall...

But I gotta remember its where I saw my first Utilikilt and caught kilt fever...and you never know what craftsmen may be there...and then there's vegetable justice.....

Ah, the renfest. Almost as good as the ostrage fest. If I go, I will be torne between garbing up or going modern kilt look. I might have a belted plaid by then..., but I've got some pirate garb I've been iching to try out, te he. I might have to get garbled. I'll need pirate earrings too.

Given the commercial slant of the Ren Fest, I don't bother trying for anything resembling an authentic outfit. I see it more as a chance to dress up like Hollywood thinks people dressed back then. The idea is to have fun, not to see how life was lived back then.

what is REALLY fun in messing with other guests that think you work there.......ahh i have some fond memories of that !!

when I first( ok like two years into it) started playing the pipes, I took them with me to the faire. at the end of the day the cannon blasted, and i had some people ask me to play, they wanted to hear star wars well I did and a shop keep came out yelling and screaming and said " that isnt period music!!!"
I replied " better tell that to Zilch the Tory stellar" and he went back to his shop. well I kept playing other tunes and then he closed his shop .........and got onto his BICYCLE and started to ride away!! I played a little SW as he rode by then stoped and said " oh and THATS a period means of travel!!!"

personally I think he just didnt like the pipes and figured that was a good way to vent about it

I go most years. I haven't decided which weekend, though I don't go on President's Day weekend, bcause a lot of the interesting people are attending Estrella.
