For those interested The National Geographic Society is in partnership with IBM running "The Genographic Project". They send you cheek swabs and you send them in to have your DNA anylized. This will not tell you where your great grand father was from because it is to track human migration routes.
Bobbie and I gave each other the kits for Christmas presents. Her mDNA is already posted. Mine are being batched. And as a male I can track both mDNA and Y chromosome.
It won't help you find your Scottish roots but it's fun and informative.
