I'm going to camp
I'm heading off to the Orthodox Christian Fellowship College Conference at St. Nicholas Camp in Dunlap, CA. I leave in the morning, and I'll be gone till the evening of the 31st.
If I can get them past my parents, I'll take my SWK MacLaren Standard and my 16 oz. Clergy from Frugal Corner. Apparently, there will be a dance. Wish me luck *.
*However, I will remain loyal to my girlfriend and withstand all temptation .

From a long-married man who will dance with any female that's inclined to do so.....dancing is allowed.
Heck, it's ENCOURAGED.
have fun

Have a good time Kevin!
When I was your age Stephen Stills released a popular song called, "Love the One You're With."
Not necessarily my recommendation, but do have fun.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Well, I'm back!
It was fun. The talks were good, the liturgy at the monastery was fantastic (although standing for two and a half hours on marble and no heating system can take something out of you), and I got some quality time by myself away from the cares of the world.
As regards the dance, I've never really been one for dances, period. The only time I can actually enjoy dancing is slow dancing, and as I have a girlfriend, I felt it best to be the wall flower for this one. Of course, my terrible sore throat and head cold contributed too, but that was the main reason.
I did, however, do some stand up for open mike night, and I was wearing my kilt. Pictures to come a a later time.

Glad you had a good time, hope your cold gets better, and at least take your girlfriend dancing now.

Well, my cold is better, but my throat is still very sore and I'm coughing up green phlegm, so I may need to rest up a bit before I do anything strenuous with Amanda. Don't want to infect her with anything (get your minds out of the gutter! It's a cough!).

Might I suggest English Country Dance? If you like something elegant that you can do without it feeling any more intimate than you are comfortable with, ECD is just the thing. What does it look like? Have a look at dancing in Jane Austen movies.
I don't know much about the Orthodox liturgy, but one of your previous mentions of it piqued my curiousity enough to look at a few websites.
Oh yes, anyone who quotes C.S. Lewis is alright by me. A fine example of how X Marks reduces the degrees of separation by at least one!

Well, I am a big fan of C. S. Lewis (don't tell any Orthodox clergy, but I support glorifying him as a saint). I even got my hands on a copy of the only recording of his voice ever made: him narrating The Four Loves.
