Gi'e the St. Andrew's folks a chance; while the majority of our members are gray-haired, they are anything but stodgy. Don't judge a book by its cover. Have you met these folks before? They might be great fun, and you might miss out on a good time.
Besides, is this your first Burns Supper? If you haven't been to one before, it's best, INMHO, to go to a more traditional one first to see the traditional format, customs, etc.
Addendum: I just looked up the SASC Burns supper and the choice of entrees does NOT include haggis?!?!? What the Heck is THAT about?!?
Definitely need another Burns supper idea...anyone, anyone?
Most Burns Suppers here in the colonies do not offer Haggis as an entree, simply because most of the attendees wouldn't eat it, or would take a wee bite.
