    DIY *.Carta Questions

I have laid up some "Micarta" using some of that bed ticking that I have miles of. It was pretty straight forward following several links provided. My question is this; when I work it the edges are more fabric than resin. Is this normal, or did I not get enough resin to permeate the fabric? Do I need to put a final finish coat on. So far the effect is very cool but it just doesn't look correct.
