I remember that, everyone's... house air conditioners were shutting down to, and I think they even stopped flights out of Sky Harber for a while.
You're right Ron,, the kilts are better than pants out here in the summer. I would say no way to formal though. You got to lose the hose. I would even say go USAK PV, with sandals or a BK solid with sandals and the Hawaiian shirt look. Gees, I remember that first time I put on a kilt with the whole get up in summer... it's just too much clothing to stand with the formal.
Keep in mind I'm blind, so probably don't know if that looks good or not, LOL!

Oops, Nighthawk. I should add that that wedding was an all outside wedding that they were wearing the belted plaids out here. Ahhh, the Feast of Gluttony...

I'll add this on here instead of a new post. Retro Red, is right it could do that out here. We've been having some strange weather for a good while here. I'll also add that there could be some wild wind/dust storms, so pack some kind of kilt pin. Thanks Retro Red, you just can't tell any more, but I hope the weather is nice down here for the time of you're visit Nighthawk.

...so what kind of weather can I expect? Can I wear a tank or should I wear something lighter?

As a native Phoenician, I would like to add a caveat to Ted's comment that April "is the best time of the year as far as weather out here." While it's true that the average high temperature here in April is 84°F/28.9°C, which with the extremely low humidity is pleasant, it is not uncommon for us to have 100°+F/37.8°+C weather in April. In fact, the record high temp for April in Phoenix is 105°F/40.6°C. Dry heat or not, that wouldn't be very comfortable in a "tank," especially if it'll be an outdoor wedding. Plus, we're about 13-14 years into a really bad drought, so overall, it's been hotter than normal around here.

My suggestion is keep a tab on the weather forecast for Phoenix before you come out. If we're having a heat spell, bring a light colored cotton or hemp kilt instead of a 16-oz 8-yard wooly-bully. And if it is hot here then, a light-weight kilt provides great ventilation!
