For quality and great service, I recommend USA Kilts. Rocky, who is a member of this forum, sells a very nice tweed Braemar Jacket and Vest. See it here (toward the bottom of the page):

Here is my review of the Argyll and waistcoat I purchased from Hector Russell here in Toronto, it was part of thier ex-rental sale, so the price was right.

The Jacket and Vest in this photo are from Vernon Tailoring in Scotland ordered through Gaelic Themes.

Rocky can order you one, as can I. I believe Matt also has an account. You can also order direct by visiting;

You will need to use Internet Explorer as your browser as Firefox does not work too well.
Allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. They are custom made and not off-the-rack.

Steve, when I look at the online catalog they depict two different lapel treatments on their Argyll jakcets but make no note of such in the desriptions. Just wondering if you, having purchased from them, knew anything about this.

Gaelic Themes are the on-line seller of the jackets. They are not the manufacturer. What you are seeing are two different styles.
There are traditionaly three styles of day jackets. Argyle, Braemer, and Crail. each has a slightly different cuff, lapel, button, and pocket arrangement. The two on the website are a 1 button Argyle and a three button Crail.
It is just this confusion and even though supposedly different styles that led me to design my own jacket which we call Donegal because we use Donegal Tweeds. My jacket is a sport coat cut for a kilt.
You can see my jacket in the FK section of this forum.
Lots to choose from, lots of decisions to make.

Hm, both photos still show up under "argyll" when I look at their site, oh well..
Your explanation does address my other confusion: I knew about the button/cuff difference but have never noticed the differing lapel styles. Thanks for clearing that up!

All of the above links are for first rate vendors with first rate clothes. For the sake of choice I"m adding this one. http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/kiltjack.html
One can never have too many choices.
Cheers.
