A great picture. You guys look like you were having a fantastic time. Makes me wish I could have been there. (And every other Burns supper on this board.)
Wait, though... someone help BeserkBishop with his sporran!

Are you criticizing my sporran hanging low, or that it is just a plain old day sporran? Unfortunately as I am a scrawny Scot, my sporran belt is as tight as it will go and I have cut off chain links from both sides as well. . . one of my leather projects will be a new belt at some point, I just have to get the other 8 thousand things done first, and as for it being just a day sporran, I figured I was in day wear so why not. Plus my homemade semi-dress is in the process of undergoing some changes.

As for the night, it was a blast. Todd did a wonderful job moving us through the evening and his Immortal Memory speech was very informative and enlightening. Several other offerings of homespun poetry in a Burn's esq style were also very enjoyable. If we can get "The Address to Cornbread" on here with the authors permission, I think the rabble would really enjoy it.

Oh, and lest I forget, I would like to say a special thanks to MacMillan of Rathdown. I received nearly my entire kit for the night from him. Again, we have a wonderful crew of gentlemen on this board.

    Regards

    Bishop

    Bishop--
Thank you very much for the kind words. You and the other X Markers looked smashing on the night. And as one (former) scrawny Scot to another-- think of a low hanging sporran as a sort of body armour!
    Cheers, Mate!

Nothing to do with the sporran. I think it looks fantastic.
It's just hanging much lower than I'm used to.
I figured you were having some problems with your sporran belt.

(For what it's worth, I have the same problem with getting sporran belts the right size. I remove some of the chain links and shorten the leather straps. Seems to do the trick.)

Ah yes, I will do some more work on the thing. I wasnt really sure what the acceptable length for a sporran to hang was, so I just go with what was comfortable. I like my "body armor." I do appreciate you pointing it out though, it does look a bit odd. I will remedy that for my next kilted out fit.

    Regards

    Bishop
