Both interior and exterior pleats sewn in (some couldn't tell, I guess that's good)
Front shot: I used my old rank as a kilt pin.

Side shot: The back pleats held up well after three car rides and breakfast on my tukas.

Back shot: BTW a pistol belt makes a great belt for this one. I'm very pleased with how the belt loops turned out too.

Pleat shot: You can see the 2" hem for scale.

Lastly, I was about done laying out the pattern when I noticed that this was ACTUAL USMC Digital Woodland. I thought it was the commercial version called "Junglestalker" but these little Eagle, Globe and Anchors (EGA's) with USMC under it were a sure sign that this was the real stuff. I got it at Jo Ann's. Thought it was a copyrighted pattern so I was surprised they even had it at all.

If only us Marines could wear that during the summer there would be a lot more of us in kilts at work ( it gets pretty warm here in So Cal during the summer... heck if you make a desert kilt I wear that to Iraq if i ever go again) Good job fellow Corporal!!!

I wondered about the EGA's on the camo. I thought they were larger from how I heard a recruiter talking.

Anyhoo, good deal. I like those digicamo's, but most of my camouflage is hunting purpose, and I am just not sure of the digicamo in the woods.

Sounds like a backwoods lament in there somewhere:

    "I'm huntin' analog deer in digital cammies . . . "

AmeriKilt MARPAT digicamo in the PA Hardwoods. The Kilt matches the Marine Corps jacket perfectly:

Great looking kilt. I'm getting ready to purchase fabric for my first X-Kilt, and I'm looking at the digi camo or the tiger stripe camo.

I hope mine turns out that well.

I've made this offer to others, so here it is again. I have access to desert USMC MARPAT cloth, and if you are deployed to the sandbox again, let me know and I'll make you a kilt. No charge.

    Tartan Hiker,

I'll pass your offer on to my cousin. He's stationed at Parris Island at the moment.

That is very generous of you.
