MacLaren: I'm (almost) an Eagle Scout, and MacLaren has a strong historical connection with the BSA. I have a SportKilt and a SWK Standard in this.
Clergy/Clark: I'm an ordained reader in the Orthodox Church, and I think it looks cool . I have a 16 oz from Frugal Corner in this one.
Buchanan: It goes well with an Aloha shirt of mine. A 13 oz from Frugal Corner.
Saffron: What tenuous claims I have to Celtic ancestry are to Ireland (I'm a quite distant O'Gallaher), and back when I thought that this mattered with regards to which tartans to get, I decided on a wool saffron from SWK.
I also have five yards of plaid flannel that I use as a pseudo-great kilt for ren faires and LARPing.
