Sharp looking outfit and another great kilt by Matt. hmmmm Pleated to stripe and that looks like a very large set. Those would be some very deep pleats you have there. I like it.

    David,

What can I say, you are looking sharp, as always. May I assume permission to put these photos up on my web gallery?

On your sporran (where do you find these wonderful sporrans!?) for repair work on the latch on the cantle, you might want to contact Donnie Shearer at http://www.themadpiper.com/

He does mostly blade work, but I know he's made his own fully functional metal hinged cantles before, and he's done some repair/restoration work for us at the museum in the past, so I can attest that he does a bang-up job.

These are some of the sporrans he has made:

    Aye,
    Matt

Very smart looking outfit! I think the grey in the hose tones in just fine, by the way.

Great kilt David. Matt's work is always superb. Lovely jacket and waistcoat, too. May I ask, what make is the jacket?

Enjoy your Matt Newsome 5 yard knife pleat, I have one as well and will attest to Matt's Craftsmanship. The tartan is very handsome and the outfit looks sharp (though I have reservations about the tie).

    Cheers

Jamie just took the words from my mouth! I just love the tartan, Matt's superb craftsmanship and the way in which you have co-ordinated your entire presentation - but, the tie worries me! A plain one, I feel, would blend much more effectively. Nevertheless, I like what I see.

    Take care,
    Ham.

That looks wonderful! The jacket is really amazing (I've never seen a 3-button kilt jacket) and the hose look great! Chunky and rustic.

And, of course, the pleat detail-

Love the combo of the colors and with envy over the kilt. Now I got to get on the Matt Newsome list! Enjoy and thanks for sharing the pics.
