Questions for the Houston Peeps

I know we have a lot of people from TX on here so I figured you would be able help out.
I may be retiring in a few months was going o reup and deploy but my wife is getting tired of me being gone, so may retire.
i have an interview with a CO. in Houston I would be the WSO/DMT/Diver for the pool at NASA for the weightless training. But I've only been to Houston once saw a Astro's game and complained about traffic and left that is all I remember.
So any info would be great.

What would you like to know? I'm a 3rd generation Houstonian, and I love the place. I know everybody goes on about traffic and road construction etc.. but they've likely never driven in L.A.! If you are going to work at NASA or JSC, you might consider staying in the Clear Lake area.

basicly cost of living, what areas are close and nice I have a 21 month old so are there a lot of parks he could play at?
