    "Nope, heat rises"

"Nope, I've got a 'heater' under there."

Last week I was out watching the Giants vs. Packers at a NYC bar with some friends and I'd say it was in the mid- to low twenties that night. I stopped on the way home to grab some coffee and while I was in the store I ran across one of those folks that insisted that I must be cold and crazy for wearing a kilt.

The guy made a scene saying that I must be crazy for wearing a kilt in this weather. I tried explaining that it was wool, that I parked only a block away, that I had a hat and wool socks on but he kept insisting. I gave him an example that I wasn't so crazy by saying that it was only in the twenties in NYC but that in Green Bay there were grown men running around in minus four degree weather with no sleeves on. He still wasn't having it.

The store owners loved my kilt and said to dismiss him. It was then that I realized that I was trying to make logical arguments with a drunk dude for no good reason whatsoever. We all shook our heads, said good night and the drunk dude just stood there like he lost his puppy and the world had gone mad.
