Nice looking patch knife.
I do ??? the statement that it was carried in the pouch.
The patch is a VERY important part of the loading paocess in a flint loak. (or cap lock for that matter) AND if patches need to be cut, then the kife had to be READLY avail.
In all my years of shootin Flintlock Muzzle Loaders, I not seen a patch knife carried in the "pouch" They are carried on the bag strap, as I do ( pic # 1 far rt.) or around the nack, or rarely on the pouch.
My "patch knife (pic #2 bottom was made from a "Old Hickory" parring knife from Good Will ( cost $.50 - I sanded off the "brand" on the handle, ground it to length === patch knife.)
As to using it as a "sock'boot" knife ?/ IMHO too small, but it would work. The 2 knives in pic #2 are my choice. ( yes I do own a couple of nice Sqians, but prefer a "fuctional" knife)
In pic # 1 I show them in the sheaths. The middle one is my favorite, because I backed it with Lambs wool, for comfort & it helps keep in place
