To start, these poor girls were wearing their kilts far too high above the knee, and sitting WELL below the navel. Additionally, they wore their sporrans off to the side, and had them secured with (gasp) chains! And we all know what sporran chains can do to a kilt with time.

Their hose, while of proper height, wasn't of stout wool - rather it seemed to be of some diaphonous, silky material that clung to every gentle curve of their calves........

In other words, it worked perfectly on them....
So? Did they lower their kilts to the knee or raise them to their navels? Either way we need pictures!

Yep, started in Lost Wages & is quickly spreading across the Southwest & the rest of the country. Currently, they've only got 2 TKs in Texas - 1 in Round Rock & the other in Houston, but one should be opening soon in Austin.

A New Year; a new 'do!

I am naturally a classic carrot-top with freakishly bright red hair right down to my... uh, DNA, yeah, that's it... Even begat me a redheaded son (which only true redheads can do). It's just that I hate having the same look for very long (I think it has something to do with growing up in the 60s when every time your favorite band came out with a new album they had a new look) & I'd never tried bleaching, so...

    Aye Clan Cousin,

Sorry I couldn't trek the 300 miles south but it was sure nice of you to fly the Ancient Ranald.

Maybe the games this year...probably should rent a vendors booth and sell off some of my outgrown Utilikilts...

Valant effort Kyle, I know you wanted to make a change. It appears that we as a group of kilties will have to make a more sustained effort in education to the proper wearing of the tartan. I have nor figured out which clan their tartan was?? Clan McCleavage?

Kyle, I will be in AZ this spring and will carry the torch that you droped. these poor girls having to wear their little sisters school uniforms. Ohh the humanity!!

I would just like to protest, both the cutting of the hair and the dying of the hair. Retro Red, you were my competition! Now I hardly even recognize you.

I managed to give birth to a pair of blondes. Every time someone questions me about that, I simply say, "Hmm, my husband must have been very friendly with the mailma...umm, mail carrier!"

    Be well,

Believe it or not Ron, I had toyed with the idea of a road trip up to the Rez. Time constraints just wouldn't allow it.

However, the next time I come to Arizona, I hope to match it with one of The Games and finally shake hands with the man.

And I'm flattered you're adding Clanranald to the list!!
