Wait a minute, what's wrong with how we did "Red Red rose" last year?

Oh, my Luv is like a red, red rose
    That's always in full plume
Oh, my Luv, he likes the kilt too much
He's a rose in tartan plume

So fair art thou, my kilted lad
So deep in luv am I
I'll put up with this whole Scot thing
    'Til our checkbook gang dry

'Til our checkbook gang dry my dear
And our credit is all gone
And I will love ye still my dear
When your preening is all done

So fair thee well my kilted lad
    Walk proudly down the mile
My vain, yet bonny, highland luv
    Tartan Peacock, ye have style!

Seriously, though, this Ferintosh Burns' Night must be attended. We just have to figure out how to do one here and there at the same time.

    Be well,

Alas I didn't take too many pictures of the supper itself but got a couple plus some hopefully apposite before and after ones.

On the day of the supper Michael and I went to the Robert Burns Centre.

The Nith was running swiftly especially at the weir.

The outside of the Centre - well worth a visit.

    The Man himsel' inside.

    Looking towards St Michael's in which kirkyaird he lies buried.;

Alex on the stairs at Ferintosh.

    Robertson kneeling at Emma's feet.

    More to come!

out of interest, what are the ribbons/medals/badges on your jacket?
I have miniatures of mine to wear with my PC jacket on formal occasions.
Robertson's badges and pins give a whole new meaning to the term "miniatures"!

And playing Highland Cathedral at my request.

    Dennis doing his piece.

Robertson doing superb job as MC.

While not strictly part of the Supper as such, we were invited down to Robertson's whisky sanctum immediately afterwards so it seemed the best place to place them.

Michelle proudly displays her prize for winning the whisky tasting (or sniffing!) competition.

Robertson shares his knowledge and passion for the stuff.

And shows some of his treasured collection.

We got to sample this very strongly sherried one.

I liked this kilted figurine! But note the "dinnae" pleating at the front!

Fantastic pics. You know, I've been trying to build up a collection of scotch. The trouble is I just can't seem to keep a full bottle in the house. I've got a big collection of empties, though.

I know you weren't tired Robertson, you had plenty of energy to talk about your subject - I must just have clicked the shutter at the wrong moments.

That third pic makes it look like you are totally smashed and have just discovered your hand. Trust a friend to get a bad pic and post it. I did notice that Robertson becomes quite animated when talking whisky.
