Car 1, Fox 0
Hello all,
Here's an interesting development.
I just received a fox roadkill. It was delivered skinned out and frozen. I ordered a tanning kit this morning. I'll dust of my Pennsylvania Mountain Man skills from childhood, and see how well I can honor this lovely animal.
I'll track this one in pictures as I go. Perhaps I'll get a mask sporran from it.
Cheers,
Kevin.

I'm jealous. I'm also well aware of the feeling of a trust placed with you - that not too long ago this was a beautiful, living creature, and that you can memorialize that life by appropriately preserving and displaying part of this animal.
...but, you can and will have fun, too.

Trusted is how I feel.
I've long considered the various species of Fox to be the most able and adaptive creatures on the planet. The seem to shine through, no matter what our species does to their environment. I've been wearing one as a tattoo for 20 years.
My actual business is called Vulpine Adaptive. I founded Vulpine 10 years ago to manufacture outerwear for people with disabilities. I closed the Vulpine website last season to concentrate on ECW, and our family finances. We'll return to making adaptive clothing when we can better serve so many varied needs.
Sooo, this project has great personal significance.
Kevin.

What has this world come to? Hunting with a car instead of the old fashioned full-auto assault weapon!

I've never hunted with a full-auto assault weapon...now, a semi-auto with 10 in the gun, and 130 more rounds, yes...but never a full-auto.
Okay...back on topic...
Congrats Kevin. We had a roadkill fox out by the park I worked at this summer, but alas, none of us got to it before some idiot ripped the tail off. Good luck with the tanning!

PS - I really need to start logging String out when I'm on her computer...*sigh*

I can see String standing there with a shot gun. She scares me.
Um... just in case you have the signatures turned off, mine says, "Just Hopping Around the Brier Patch."
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Eeeew!
Sorry, it slipped out. (I get nauseous just touching a fur trim on a jacket, no idea why, I just do. And I'm not a vegetarian), Weird huh?

Good luck in your efforts to join the Full Mask Sporran Club for Men.

I dream of a badger mask sporran. Hopefully I can get my hands on a badger pelt soon.
Good luck on your sporran! I expect copious quantities of photos.
