I get really ticked off. I even fail to see the point in buy any kilt just because you like the color. To wear kilt is to show pride not a fashion choice .

do you also get ticked off when someone wears a particular jersey from a sports team, but doesn't live in the city where the team plays, let alone play for the team? do you also get ticked off when people paint their homes in a color you don't like? what else about other people angers you? music choice? hair style? skin color?

i wear the kilt of my choosing (tartan or not) because I alone get to decide MY aesthetic.

i'll be the one to make the statement (and face the punishment be it so determined) but to believe that any person should have an aesthetic that agrees with your judgment is plain and simple bigotry.

The question might have been better phrased:

"As someone who only wears a traditional kilt in tartans with meaning to me I am interested in the appeal to others of Modern kilts or wearing of tartan (or other types) of traditional kilts as just a fashion preference Please share your thoughts."

So the Mods don't have to shut the thread down I'd appreciate it if everyone took this as the starting point of this discussion.
