BIG day
So today I did two things.
1. I made the commitment. I filled out the entry forms and wrote the check. I'm signed up, committed to doing the 2008 Singlehanded TransPac Race. That means on July 12th I'll step aboard my boat, solo, and cast off here in San Francisco Bay. Next stop, 2,120 miles later....Hanalei bay, Kauai, Hawaii. Joan sent in the reservation for the cottage in Hanalei that she'll stay in while waiting for me to arrive. Hopefully, I'll get there in time to enjoy it for 4-5 days, myself.
2. I finally curled 85 pounds ten times in the gym today as part of my circuit training for the Games. I maxxed out at 80 pounds 10 reps curling as a senior in high school, so I guess I'm stronger now than I was when I was 18. Of course, I weighed 198 pounds then....and now I'm 265. I can't run a mile in 6 minutes, though!

Ohhh, you make me yearn for the sea again. I used to do a lot of sailing but I just cant afford my own boat right now. Nothing better than getting the boat heeling so far you can dip your head in the water!
