Thanks for all the opinions and encouragement. It performed admirably at the St. Louis games. If you want to see me wearing it check out Cajunscots thread in the "show us your pics" area. Unfortunately I left many of my leather working tools in St. Louis at my brothers house after putting the finishing touches on his belt. As soon as I get my tools I will put the finishing touches on it and post more pictures and such. I picked up a beautiful MacLeod crest pin that I plan to use as sort of a button to fasten and I need to get some more leather as well!

So Now Its Done. . . . Maybe

I have been intending to put some finishing touches on this sporran for sometime now but never got to it. Todd informed me that the Stag Burns Supper was going to be a daywear event so that was the kick in the pants I needed to revitalize the old thing. Here is it in -crosses fingers- its final incarnation.

    flap open

    an inside shot

Just for kicks the sporran strap that I whipped together for it.

Well there it is. What do ya think gents and lassies? I think it kinda looks like the %#$*#$ offspring of a freelander and a traditional sporran.

Quite nice. The decorative horn button, rounding out the flap, and adding the braiding give your sporran a bit more finished look (though still keeping true to its rustic good looks)

Hmmmm....I seem to recall some advice advocating that earlier....hmmm...

A decorative button would look nice but visually isn't essential.

I'm just teasing you! You should be proud to wear such a handsome sporran.

    Cheers
