What TheScot said was spot on. Some tartan hose can get as expensive as $100 or 200 a pair.

    From the STA website; http://www.tartansauthority.com/Web/...eartheKilt.asp

"White kilt hose is regarded by many as an abomination and should only be worn by pipe bands." " Cream hose is acceptable as are any colours that tone in with the jacket or kilt. Diced or tartan hose can also be worn."

On formal ocassions argyle hose in the colors of the kilt are worn, or diced hose in red and white, red and green or very ocassionally other two color combinations.

It's true they can be expensive, but if you keep your eyes open and are patient you can find bargains.

Those have been discussed rather thoroughly in other threads that you can find using the search feature.

*sigh* I really don't need the "use the search" feature. I was just offering up something that I randomly found that wasn't in this thread and seemed appropriate, next time I guess I won't bother.

It's true that the prices of those hose are a bargain, but the quality isn't so good. Rather than repeating the negative criticism again, I refer readers to the original posts.
