Queen Mary Highland Games - Long Beach, Ca
This weekend folks, come on down!
Anyone in Southern California is within an hour's drive of these games for the most part. The festival is actually held ON the ship, in the paved area just outside, and the athletics are in the field just across the parking lot.
In addition to all the normal trappings of the Highland Games this one also has an authentic Russian Submarine you can tour parked right next door.
This weekend, February 16th and 17th. I'll be judging for the first time on Saturday, then competing on Sunday in the B class (just moved up this year). For those able, come on down.

Wonderful!
The athletic field is to the left of the boat, the prow points at it. I believe KiltedinUSMC will also be there on Sunday competing in his first ever Game.

Looking forward to meeting you Yaish, sounds like quite an unusual venue for a Highland Games!
Best regards,
Jake

Yaish,
Just don't hit the Russian sub with your hammer, after all Glasnost and all that.
Have fun judging and good luck in "B" class!
Cheers

D'oh! Didn't know it was a secret.
Well after training with Jeff I am sure you will acquit yourself quite nicely. I'll be on the field the same day as you I think, so we may not see each other much unfortunately.
My wife will be there Sunday as well along with my brother in law and his family. We'll have our blue E-Z up and chairs set up somewhere along the throwing field, so come on over and hang out.
