It's been mostly quiet today; I hope they are done. I did a little more weeding in the garden...

I tried putting the orange slices in the chicken rice today, and it did what I wanted. In the past, I've tried all kinds of things like peanuts and so on. Maybe one of these days I'll post some recipes.

    * Ya, it's night time now and they aren't running machines. They're done with the clean up. It's just nice and quiet out there... I can hear the trafic off in different places out there... They aren't even drag racing tonight.

Sometimes, I like to sit by a windo, or on the patio at night and listen to the cars off in the distance. People going by.

We've stepped over into a new early morning, and it is nicely odd to have a quiet night.

I brought up cookies in another thread, so I will confess. I like to take giant oatmeal cookies and put... stuff on them. Here's one of the things I like to do:

I take the giant oatmeal cookie, it has to still be soft, and I put a mixture of melted butter and honey with a little cinamon on the cookie like if it were cinnamon toast. You can do this by spreading the butter on the cookie a little then the honey on the butter and a pinch of cinnamon on top, then heating it just enough to get the butter and honey moving a little, then spread it out with a knife. You could also melt the butter in a butter melting cup, add the honey and cinnamon and stir it up then spoon it on the cookie.

It also works to use sugar in the butter in place of the honey, and that is a different taste and a very neet texture.
Marmalade works quite well on a giant oatmeal cookie too, or grape jelly... Any of that stuff is good.

Personally, I think cinnamon toast tastes better if it is cut into strips and aranged in a log cabin... That's the way my grandma used to make it when I lived with her.

Yes, I've gone madd and started talking about cookies. Better here than starting a thread on cookies. I can see that becoming very ugly very quickly and being locked down.

Giant oatmeal cookies instead of bread...

The next time I go to the store, I will see if I can get a batch of giant oatmeal cookies, then experiment with them. I don't want to make them... They can make themselves at the store.

    Give into the cooky maddness!

You see all these people in pajamas come walking down the street like zombies, "Cookies, we want cookies..."

Ok, I looked over my cookie recipies, I need to reorganize them, and also the oatmeal cookie recipies. I think it would be possible to eas up on the sugar in the batter quite a bit, and produce a cookie that is able to accept any number of sweet toppings. Perhaps even peanut butter and jelly oatmeal cookie sandwiches.

I'll keep thinking about it. I don't know that I want to be making cookies... too messy. Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies sound really good right now...

I eat handfuls of dry oatmeal all day. Got that from Grandma... Kind of in place of chips or something. Some times I put marmalade on the dry oatmeal, or honey, then eat that, but I'm not sure I've cooked the oatmeal in years and years...

    Oh, The Allergies!

I did a bit mor weeding today. For the weeds that grow low on the ground, I have to crawl around on my hands and knees with a paint scraper. That always messes up my breathing, but got to do what you got to do. Nature is about to explode with pollen, like olive pollen, and I will be not breathing so well soon anyway. It's just the allergies...

I turned an old thread of mine, "Bunny Sporran," into a thread on putting together a kilt outfit with an adaptation of a brown corduroy jacket and vest. It's that picture of me in that brown tweed driving cap that I posted back there. We'll see if I can keep that alive. I've bumped some of my other old threads too.

Thinking back on that four days of machines running and the gas leak, it seemed like it went on for weeks... Things have gone back to normal though. I am getting a planting bed, that I had a compost pile on, ready to have it's soil turned.

I might plan a trip to the grocery store, at the end of the week, just to get giant oatmeal cookies. Sounds like fun.

Ya, the winter gets better for allergies, but we only have about fifteen days of winter out here, LOL! When I was a kid, I used to be given some kind of shots for the allergies, but I'm not sure it ever did anything. The allergies sure can drain you of any energy though... A lot of times, I have problems a day or so before it rains, or is likely to rain. I think that has to do with all the desert molds and plants and stuff getting ready for the rain and spewing... stuff everywhere. I've been sneezing all morning... The medicine I take doesn't do anything for the sneezing and stuff; it just helps me breathe better, like through my nose. The other medicine is just for the headaches that happen from the allergies. I only take that if it's really bad because it makes me a bit sleepy.

    * Let me clarify because it sounds so dramatic. I have mild allergies to a bunch of things, but none of them are lifethreatening or anything like that.

    * Yep, it's spring, String.

I made stuffed orange peal quarters today, because I didn't feel like cutting them up. When the grape vines start making leaves again later this year, I will make stuffed grape leaves with the rice and meat.

My neighbor, he's new to the neighborhood, wanted to argue with me just a while ago about composting things. This was after he told me that he didn't know how to make compost. I had to squurm my way out of the conversation. Must be the moon... Thankfully, I let all my compost go dorment when he moved in and it is just sitting there resting... out of his view.

What are the grape leaf things called, I forget, but I have a friend who makes them too, and they are wonderful.
