You are very kind. Really, I was trying to defuse this thread, as much as anything.

And leave it to me to stir things back up...

I really think that we have to leave anybody's belief system out of it and just treat it as one more example of criticism of the kilt. Just like any situation where any of us get a negative comment, we go through a lot of possible retorts that we can toss back at the critic. It's a matter of faith...faith in the fact that the kilt is a man's garment and that it is acceptable to be worn in public. Anybody criticizes, it's a simple mater of saying, "Sorry...I don't agree with you, it's something that men wear and I have every right and intention to wear it."

Granted some critics can be more obnoxious than others but that just come with the territory.

    Nighthawk,

If you see that you are trying to stir things up, I have a simple request, DON'T. There are so many really interesting discussions that we the Mods are forced to end because someone couldn't show a little restraint.

Has it occurred to you that maybe even the Mods would like to be able to expand on what we can talk about here on XMTS? But then when an interesting thread has people swinging a hammer where a scapel should be applied we just have to sigh and closed down another thread.

I realize you were making a joke and this isn't just directed at you. There are a lot of people here at XMTS who like Rex offer intelligent, polite, and thoughtful posts. Sadly there are also those who lack of restraint and/or courtesy at times. They are the reason we have to have so many rules to keep this a family friendly place.

    Just something to think about.

    Cheers

Yes sir, I am very well aware of that. That's why I laughed at myself a little. I DIDN'T realize that what I said might be interpreted as stirring things back up. That's why I made the second post. I was trying to say that I hadn't meant to get things stirred back up. If it's seen that I was doing it on purpose, then I apologize.
