Hunting Stewart 18 oz. - the belated pics

Darkislander - that's my "I did set the timer, didn't I?" expression. It shows up in most of my pictures.
James - now I'm working on handsewn #4: 10 oz. Maple Leaf PV, with 7 oz. hemp/cotton lining. Another winter kilt. And I'm making it completely left-handed (not switching back and forth like I've done with the previous three).
McMurdo - if I get the current one finished before Grimsby, you'll see it. Otherwise I'll be wearing the Hunting Stewart.
McClef - I won't tell Frankenchuck what you said. For a dead stuffed rodent, he's very sensitive you know.

Everyone else - thanks for the kind remarks. Of course, the positive feedback just encourages me to sew more kilts ...

No different than the skin (leather) of dead animals obscuring the apron of YOUR kilts you know.
I've noticed you always chime in with some sort of negative remark when it someone posts pictures of or with a full mask sporran.

I'm of the opinion that when it comes to animal protection feelings it's: all or none. It's like a "vegetarian" who eats eggs and fish but throws red paint on the lady in the mink coat. It just doesn't make any sense.

Yes, the Canadian Scottish Regiment and the Royal Scots (I think) pleat it that way, alternating red and yellow stripes. It does look nice.

I am no vegetarian Bradley and I am, I hope, entitled to my own opinion. I do not have the stuffed heads of cows or sheep or seals on my sporrans and in the case of the first two, they are the by product in any case of an edible animal. The popularity of full mask sporrans appears to be mainly North American, many kilties over here would not touch them. In which case it's a cultural difference and these do exist - the issue of animal protection is not even the issue (especially in the case of road kill), it's a matter of aesthetics. I happen to like looking at taxerdermic specimens when they show the animal in a natural setting, but what might look good in a glass case does not necessarily look good in a more mangled state in front of a kilt apron. It is not my intention to stop people wearing what they like but I don't have to agree that it looks good. Do not mistake negative for constructive. Such sporrans often take considerably more space than an ordinary sporran and can affect the balance of the finished appearance.

It would be rare indeed to see a mink's head attached to a mink coat by the way regarding your analogy. Whether or not there are vanity or issues of wealth involved you can argue that the coat is wam.

You're most certainly entitled. And, I must say, that was very well put. It seems I assumed too much from your previous posts. The "dead animal" descriptors that always popped up in them made me think the "dead animal" part was where your displeasure lied. All apologies for jumping to conclusions premarturely.
