I am going to pay the extra for the rush order, cos I'm a really impatient person! Besides, I don't plan on wearing flash or hose in the near future, so I can put off buying those for now.
Tomorrow the order is placed (for real this time...no really, I mean it!)
So - did you order the kilt???????

Nah, I called a couple times, but it seems Rocky and Kelly were "out of the office" today. Being that today was President's Day, and they had been at a Celtic festival all weekend, I kind of figured that they might take the day off. No big deal, no harm done.
But another one of my friends came over this afternoon and I had him take my length measurement...again (not that I've been particularly excited about that), but mostly because kilts are an investment, so I've been really weird about making sure I get the measurements correct. He got the same measurement as myself and another friend got, so I know it'll be the right length. I'm completely confident in the numbers at this point, since I've gotten the same measurements in the past four days!
I did leave Rocky a message today though. I'm going to bed early tonight so I can make sure I'm awake early to call in my order first thing in the morning (since USAK is two hours ahead of my local time.)
Rocky, if you read this before I talk to you tomorrow: We're going to do $249 on my credit card and I mailed off the $6 money order today to make up the difference (I'd forgotten about a $3 charge that I made after I'd sent you the first email, for cigarettes or beer or something. The monitary situation is all squared away though.) If for some reason you don't get the MO by, say, Friday, let me know and I'll get another one out on Saturday (I'll give you my phone number when I place my order, so you can call or email me if you don't get it by then.)

Got my order in a couple hours ago! Rocky said he was out of the Grey Granite, but he's already got some more on order, so it'll only add about a week to my order (three weeks is still better than eight! I'm just waaay too impatient to wait eight weeks!)
I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as I get it. And Rocky was just great to work with! I'll be doing much more business with him in the future!

Being that this is the USA Kilts forum, let's keep this about USA Kilts.
The General kilt forum is the appropriate place to talk about the wares of other companies.

Reminds me of a story my Dad liked to tell. He lived in Texas for quite a few years and when he went to get a pair of pants (trousers) made the tailor asked him if was Canadian. My dad was surprised and said "yes, how do you know?" The tailor replied that he suffered from that Canadian disease 'noassatall'.
It's because of our diet of whale blubber and moose meat. Good choice on your first kilt Cat and a belated welcome from Ontario, Canada. A USAK semi-trad is a well built and custom made kilt, not an 8 yard hand sewn but also one that is built just for you. Wonderful tartan also.

Cat,
You will be very pleased with the result. Rocky's service is great and the quality is superb. You are now an official member of the Rocky Jonesing Society.

I'm already thinking about at least two others I'd like to get in the future. I'd love to get one in the Warrior tartan to wear to Rockies baseball games. And of course, I figure I needs me a Black Watch at some point! That might be my "tank" that I hope get next fall, but I'm not sure yet...there's about a dozen tartans that I already want a kilt made out of!
I'm already antsy, and I only placed my order less than twelve hours ago! I guess I better get working on a sporran and a new belt to kill the time (or at least get me through a couple days.)
