I unfortunately don't have a lot to add. I only own one denim, a Utilikilt. However, I wear it a lot. I own 2 Utilikilts (the denim and a beat up workmans) and 2 X-kilts but no sporran and no pockets on the X-kilts (never got around to adding them). So the denim is my go to kilt. I love it.
I would agree that it curls less, not more than my workmans (however the workmans is old and soft, so that may be the reason). I did have a problem with it rolling ( the bottom hem, going up). I figured out a work around, I wash it with fabric softener and then lay it out flat with all of the pleats flat. It's not fast but seems to work and no ironing.
